ABOUT
Jon Carlos is an Academy and Guild nominated Production Designer for feature films and television, based in Los Angeles. After graduating from UCLA's School of Theater, Film, and Television with an emphasis in Scenic Design and Production, Jon has provided design and management services to the entertainment, art, and advertising communities for over twenty years. His film and television career have been quite varied, inclusive of both live action and CGI animation projects. His experience has taken him around the world, from Cuba to Hong Kong.
Jon's work has been featured in Architectural Digest on multiple occasions, as well as The Wall Street Journal, Deadline, and The Hollywood Reporter. Variety identified him as a “Best of Craft” in their 2020 Artisan’s Elite Report.
Jon recently production designed the limited series Imperfect Women for AppleTV+ debuting March 2026, and his work on the second season of Palm Royale will air this November on AppleTV+. Previous design credits include the feature Unstoppable directed by William Goldenberg for Artists Equity and Amazon, and the pilot episodes of El Gato Negro filmed in Mexico City for Amazon MGM Studios. He has received Emmy and Guild nominations for Outstanding Production Design for his work on the premiere season of Palm Royale, HBO's Westworld, and Hacks. Past Supervising Art Director credits include For All Mankind, Westworld Seasons I and II, Hotel Artemis, and Counterpart, with additional Art Director credits including Mad Men, Fate of the Furious, Furious 7, War Dogs, Halt & Catch Fire, and Flight.
He leads his team with pride to consistently provide superlative environments while balancing a production's logistic and scheduling needs. His eye for style, presentation, and taste are equally weighed by his ability to communicate, manage, and execute quality designs from concept to completion.
